Task Evaluation
This page remains under construction. Come back to see our additions.
Task Evaluation identifies the best options to prevent failures and reduce the severity of negative consequences. The options, variables, and varieties of tasks are numerous.
The complexity of evaluating available tasks is well beyond our current scope for an introductory website. Our offering in this category will expand over time.
Maintenance tasks vary among different categories:
- Run-to-failure - These assets pose little threat on failure. This could be a simple as changing light bulbs, repainting safety glow areas, or replacing traction strips on slippery floors.
- Condition-Based Maintenance Tasks (CBM) - These are maintenance tasks that occur when a measured condition is met. These conditions are reliable predictors of failure.
- Preventive Maintenance (PdM) - These are tasks that are performed at intervals specified by historical time or cycle count analysis. Manufacturers try to perform these tasks before a failure becomes imminent.
- Alternative Options - Asset Redesign, Operational Modification, Maintenance Modification
Many possibilities and methods for selecting the right maintenance times and intervals. As we grow our website, we will include further definitions and references.
