Task Selection produces three possible categories of output:

• Perform Preventive Maintenance or Predictive Maintenance
• Run to failure, then correct
• Condition Based Maintenance
• Alternative options - Asset Redesign, Operational Modification, Maintenance Modification

The selection of the optimal task depends on your evaluation of failure consequences, cost/benefit, and maintenance capabilities.
